Adding a syllabus is the most common question we get, so here’s a simple way to get the job done: (NOTE: This method should only be done for classes which are not hybrid or online. Hybrid and online classes should add their files to Content.)
First, log into D2L and go to the course where you wan to add the syllabus.
The next thing you will need to do is title the news item. A name like “Syllabus” makes the most sense. Also, you do have to type something in the text box. I put “Attached is the syllabus.” That’s about all you need. Then, click on the “Add a File” button at the bottom and select the file you want to add.
This can be done by clicking on the “Choose File” button. NOTE: Do not click on the “Add” button unless you plan to load more than one file. Lastly, once the file has been selected from your computer, click on “Upload”.
After clicking “Upload”, the pop-in window will disappear. This is when you need to be sure to “Save”. If you don’t save, you will have to start over completely. After you Save, click on Course Home in the dark blue tool bar.
Your New News item should now appear on the front page with a link to your syllabus. Your’e Done!
